Reliable Micro-Needling & PRP Treatment in Toronto & Newmarket

Why are celebrities, including Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Aniston, lining up to have their faces poked with tiny needles?

Redwood Medi Spa has the answer!

What these celebrities are doing is called micro-needling, and it has quickly become one of our most popular procedures. Read on to learn about how this skin rejuvenating treatment works, as well as its benefits.

What is micro-needling?
Micro-needling is also called collagen induction therapy, and it is a minimally invasive, reinvigorating procedure for the skin. Improvements can include better texture and firmness and a decrease in scars, stretch marks, and sizes of pores. Plus, the treatment only takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

Redwood Medi Spa  uses the eDermaStamp microneedling in combination with the Eclipse PRP® (“platelet-rich plasma”) for our micro-needling procedures. The eDermaStamp microneedling is the most advanced, medical-grade, automated micro-needling device on the market today while the PRP accelerates recovery so you can regrow stronger and healthier skin.

How does microneedling work?
Our Health Canada approved microneedling device is used to create controlled, micro-injuries to the skin in order to stimulate and promote collagen and elastin production. Moreover, by creating these micro-channels to the skin, the Eclipse MicroPen® will also make the penetration of active ingredients in your creams and serums deeper and more effective.

What can I expect during a micro-needling treatment?
First, a small amount of your blood is drawn, and then the red blood cells are isolated from the platelet-rich plasma (PRP). There is virtually no risk of allergic reaction because we process the autologous PRP from your own blood.

The PRP is applied to the skin’s surface to release essential healing growth factors to the dermis of the skin. 12 tiny micro-points in a sterile cartridge are then attached to the eDermaStamp. We then apply sterile saline to the skin and choose a treatment setting based on your skin’s individual needs. The pen is then simultaneously pressed gently against and glided across the treatment area.

Youthful results are triggered by your own body’s natural response without the use of chemicals. And because there is no heat involved in this procedure, recovery time is minimal.

How does micro-needling work?
When something injures the skin, your body’s natural reaction is to heal the surface and regrow skin. The process of micro-needling triggers this natural reaction and encourages collagen production to help skin shrink and tighten. Collagen production decreases as we get older, so increasing its production is important for a rejuvenated and vibrant complexion.

What does micro-needling feel like?
The eDermaStamp microneedles against your skin can feel like sandpaper is moving across it, and some treatment areas will be more sensitive to it than others. However, the micro-needling tip’s speed makes the process feel more comfortable.

How long does it take to recover?
On average, patients experience redness for two to four days. However, some patients heal completely in just 24 hours.

When will I be able to see results?
After the skin heals, patients may take note of a glow to their skin immediately. Otherwise, skin will transform over several weeks and results can be seen to improve for up to 6 months after the procedure is completed.

How many treatments will I need?
It is recommended that patients undergo two to three treatments with about six to eight weeks in between. If you have more significant skin concerns, such as acne or scars, it is recommended that you receive six to eight treatment sessions every six weeks.
