Pigmentation Treatments

What is pigmentation?

You’ve probably noticed dark spots, patchy pigmentation, or uneven tone that doesn’t respond to skincare alone.

But not all pigmentation is the same, and not all treatments work the same way.

Let’s simplify it!

Pigmentation refers to areas of the skin where melanin is unevenly distributed.

This can appear as:

  • Sun spots and age spots

  • Melasma (patchy pigmentation)

  • Acne marks (PIH)

  • Uneven skin tone

Unlike surface-level concerns, pigmentation often sits at different depths in the skin.

This is why facials and skincare alone are often not enough.

Why treating pigmentation is not one-size-fits-all

Some pigmentation is superficial, some is deep, some is stable, and some is easily triggered.

Using the wrong treatment or incorrect settings can:

  • worsen pigmentation

  • trigger melasma

  • cause uneven results

At Redwood Medi Spa & Laser Clinic, we assess your skin carefully and select the right approach based on your condition, not a template.

Types of pigmentation we treat

Sun Damage & Sun Spots
Caused by UV exposure over time. Often responds well to light-based treatments.

Melasma
More complex and sensitive. Requires a cautious, controlled approach.

Acne Marks (PIH)
Post-inflammatory pigmentation left after breakouts.

Uneven Skin Tone
Combination of different pigment issues affecting overall clarity.

Am I a good candidate?

You may be a candidate if you:

  • Have sun spots or dark patches

  • Struggle with melasma

  • Have acne marks that won’t fade

  • Notice uneven skin tone

The right treatment depends on your skin type, sensitivity, and goals!
